Think of the mason jar tutorials or the long pins that show 20 or so different household tips on Pinterest. You may not know this, but the most clicked on image size are the long, skinny pins. Inspirational quote pins drive tons of traffic for authors but they aren’t the most effective pins floating around on the boards.
When your photo gallery opens, tap the photo you want to upload.
When the menu opens, select “Pin.” At this point, the app might prompt you to allow Pinterest to access your photos or camera. This button is located at the bottom center of the screen in the Apple App, and the top right if you’re using the Android version. If you’re using the Pinterest mobile app, open the app and click the plus button to create a new pin. Then, click “Done.” Once you do that, Pinterest will prompt you to select a board for your pin, or you can create a new one by clicking the “Create board” button. If you like, add a title, a description, and alternate text for the image in the text boxes to the right of the upload box.
Select the picture you want, then click “Open” to upload it.
Or, click the upload box to open a finder or file explorer window. You will see a gray box that says, “Drag and drop or click to upload.” From here, you can select an image on your desktop and drag it directly into the box to upload it. This will take you to a new page where you can upload your image and add a description. Next, click the plus button at the lower right side of the window, and select “Create a Pin” from the popup menu. To upload a photo to Pinterest from your desktop, go to in your web browser and log in.
